Magnolia DT Card~ Tilda Carrying a Lamb( Hoppy Easter Collection 2010)

Hi my dear friends,

How are you today ? I hope you are fine with whatever weather you have:-) Our weather here is SUPER HOT with some temperature about 36-38 degree celcius !! So, this is a good time for me to stay in my crafting room to make some cards! But, I just manage make one card today...due to my "Distress ink-coloring-experiment"!! I took a whole day to make this card and I feel pain all my body now:-(( LOL

I feel proud to manage color the Floral background with distress ink...this was my second attempt using distress ink and it was so FUN and I must admit that I am addicted !!

All materials sent by Magnolia except small roses and pearls from Prima Marketing.

Floral background colored with Distress ink:Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint, Broken China,Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed.

Tilda carrying a lamb colored with Copic Ciao Markers.

Family~Scrapping

I want to scrap this photo for a long time since we back from a vacation at Cameron Highland in March, 2008. I need to wait for 9 months to scrap a photo, oh no!! LOL...This is a very simple layout and I played again with distress inks. My son said I just simply play as I wish when I made the background with distress inks! Yes, he was right! Just play as you wish when you made the background with distress inks, blending tool , sponge and a little bit of water.Here is the pictures and the steps:

1) on a 8"x8" white cardstock, stamped the swirl stamp from Fancy pants with versafine ink,then sponged with distress inks and blended with a little bit water and blending tool. For the white spot, I spritz some water, wait for a minute then tap with tissue paper.OK, here is the background made with distress inks, simple ??

2) Cut the photo in desired size, mat on a piece of white cardstock which I sponged some distress inks first. I handrawn stitches on the paper.

3) Printed some family qoutes from internet on patterned paper then cut in long pieces.Pinched some flowers from patterned paper.

4) Arrange all the embelishmets, flowers and photo in the way you like, tied the chipboard "f" with rick rack,glued some rhinestones and pearls on flowers and stamped image too.Viola!!

It;s really simple, I hope you like it as I do~~

Magnolia DT Card + Box~ Season's Greetings!!

Today I want to show you the Magnolia card and box that I created...hope you enjoy! I know I love vintage and I can't resist to make anything vintage!!:=)))Enjoy!!

Magnolia sent me some pop-up foam to make my card, so I used them on this card to make it pop.I took some different view picture for you to see more clearly.

and this is the box that Magnolia sent to me to decorate...it's simple and I love it...I used Ice stickles to make the gold swirls.

All materials from Magnolia shop except Season Greetings sentiment from Artsy Collage, lace, green and blue prima flowers, Ranger Ice Stickles,Stampin"Up stamp~Lexicon, Ranger Distress Inks~Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap, Hero Arts Old Script stamp, Tsukineko Encore Metalic Silver Ink.

这两个作品是Magnolia的设计,我用不同的角度来拍摄卡片,为了是让大家看这张卡片的设计,因为我用了pop-up foam stickers.小圆盒也是Magnolia寄来要我设计的...上面的金圈是先用铅笔画上去,再用金色的Ice stickles 弄上去.

Two-in-One Card

How many challenges can I make in one card?? I can't believe it that I have made 4 challenges in this weekend, and all those in ONE card!!! How lucky am I ?? :-))

1) Arty Girlz Challenge for Handmade Backgrouds-yup, I have made the pink/purple background with my distress inks and script stamp.

2)Daring Cardmakers for More distressing-I have used many distressed technique in this card, for example distressed the edges of the card, distressed wording.

3)Thank God It's Friday for Acetate- I stamp the child stamp on acetete with stazon ink to make a card.It was simpel and easy.

4)Saturday's Workout for Embossed- I embossed the pink card's edges with gold embossing powder, I am so sorry if you can't see it clear with the picture posted.

Ok, now, how to make this card? I called it Two-in-one card.First , I made the pink card, stamped some wornlipstick and Dusty Concord distress inks on a small cardstock.Stamped script stamp with Colorbox pink ink.Attached a vintage girl photo which I inked some distress ink and gold ink for the edges.Secure a sketon leaf and paper flowers.Attached stamped wording "Cherish" with distressed the edges.Embossed the card edges with gold embossing powder.

Now, for the acetate pocket card. Stamped the child stamp with stazon on brown stamp, attached stamped wording,added paper flowers with brad, ribbon and flower gemstones.Last part was inserted the pink card that I made beforehand into the acetate pocket card to make a very unique card. Voila !!!

When I first saw this challenge, I got PANIC, really, Heike, if you see this I just want to let you know this is really a challenge for me, you are GREAT!!!

Well, after some studies on the colors, here I made this blue and green card.

I used gloss paper from Ranger , inked the cover with broken china and peeled paint distress inks to make the background,I used ink blending tool to ink the color. There was a lady who asked me how to use the ink blending tool in proper way, well, I might write a tutorial about it, if I have some time:-) please be patience.

OK, after making the background, I used the same technique to make the tag , then stamped the saying with Versafine Ink(Onyx black), I like to use this ink:-).

After that, I decorated the entire background. The "C" is a chipboard which I inked some Vintage Photo distress ink. Stamped the letters, sponged some distress ink on them.Viola!

Supplies Used: Cherish(Stampin'Up),Simple Life stamp(Hero Arts), Versafine Ink Onyx Black(Tsukineko),Vintage Photo, Broken China, Peeled Paints Distress Inks(Ranger),Gloss Paper(Ranger),Prima paper flowers,ribbon from my stash.

Distressing Background Tutorial

I never done a tutorial before, so please bear with me and I am so excited to share with you all what I have created.

Well, first of all , you need to gather all your stamping supplies beforehand, it's for your convenience:-)

Distress Inks: Vintage Photo, Broken China, Mustard Seed, Black Soot, Frayed Burlap,Worn Lipstick(Ranger Industries).

Versafine Ink: Onyx Black(Tsukineko)

Lexicon of Love-Cherish(Stampin'Up)

Ink Blending tool(Ranger Industries)

Sponge Dauber(Tsukineko)

Heat gun(Kuretake)

Dishes sponge

Sand paper

White shinny cardstock

OK, let's start.1.Start with a piece of white shinny cardstock(WSC). Yes, I used shinny cardstock, it's not a "normal" white cardstock, but it's shinny,you can get them at your local bookshop or craft store.If you use "normal" white cardstock , it will not worked.

2.Sponged the WSC with Broken China, Mustard Seed and Worn Lip distress inks. You can overlapping the colors.

3.Sponged all the background with Vintage Photo.

4. Spray some water on the background, about 4 times. Don't put too much water otherwise the texture is not "firm".

5.Quickly scrape the background with dish sponge over it.This will turn the background's texture, fun ?:-}

6.Heat set the scraped background with heat gun.

7.Using the ink blending tool , inked the background with Worn Lipstick and follow by Vintage Photo.

8.Ink randomly the background with Black Soot ink.

9.Ink the edges with Frayed Burlap.

10.Torn the edges of paper to make some scrolls,then ink some Frayed Burlap.

11.Stamped all over the background with the Cherish stamp using Versafine Ink(Onyx black).

12.Viola and you can decorate it as you like !!

Hubby will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow so I made this card for him....
I seldom make card for guy, so the color picking is a hard task for me ...so I hope the color of this card is suit for man...

hmmmm...have been addicted to distress inks so...I used distress ink again this time to make the card....how do you think ? west life birthday??:-)) I hope he will like it too...
