Magnolia Little Christmas Layout

Hello my dear friends around the world:-))
I have a layout to show you with Magnolia new release Little Christmas stamps!
It's always fun to play with new release stamps ( Off course I love "old" stamps too:-))

I don't usually scrap, because I don't have any scrapping skills. I don't attend any scrapping class/workshop. I love to see scrappers' layouts, and wish that I can obtain those fabulous techniques too.
Basically when come into scrapping, I love being messy. Getting those paints on my project was really FUN !!
I hope you don't mind I am going to share this layout with you with all the messy=))

For the base, I choosed Magnolia patterned paper 12"x12", from the collection Sweet Crazy Love-Vintage Red.
I also used other collection of Magnolia patterned papers-Merry Little Christmas, Pion Design patterned papers.
I distressed all the edges of patterned papers with distresser and Ranger Walnut Stain Ink.
I also used doily 4" on my layout, small kraft tag and the most beautiful vintage red Washi tape.
I stamped "Love" background on the small tag then again stamped a post on the small tag too.
The beautiful "Holiday Treasures" from Bo Bonny product.
You can notice that I did some white polka dot on the left side of the patterned paper, you can scroll down on the post, I do some little tutorial how I made it.
I teared a bit the patterned paper and underneath I placed a piece of small paper which I stamped the "love" sentiment.

I crumbled and distressed a piece of patterned paper with Ranger Walnut Stain ink.
If you are a Magnolia lovers you can notice that little Magnolia Made with Love tag. It's on the Magnolia product , it's so lovely and I wanted to use it on my project, so easy and you don't need any other decoration, I distressed it with Ranger Walnut Stain ink too.
I make a lasso using raffia to make the Magnolia tag "stand"
A pearl string also used to make the layout more elegant look.

I used a lot gesso paint on my layout.Around the photo, on the corrugrated board, here and there.....
The very cute "Cocco with Present" stamp was stamped with Tsukineko Memento Black ink on 200gsm Canson watercoloring paper and colored with Ranger Distress inks.

and the very innocent Cozy Christmas Bear stamp, also colored with Ranger distress inks.
The sentiment " Merry Christmas" from Magnolia Sweet Christmas Dream Collection 2011.
I stamped it with Tsukineko Memento Black ink on a piece with white paper.
Beautiful paper flowers from I am Roses, Magnolia.

I whitewashed all the edges of the patterned paper with gesso paint and Snow-tex from Deco-Art.
The dies "fence" from Magnolia DooHickey dies cut.
Ribbon and lace from my stash ( so sorry I really forgot where are they from?)

I made two beautiful poinsettia flowers with Magnolia DooHickey christmas poinsettia dies cut on Magnolia patterned papers.
I painted the flowers with snow-tex.

Do you have any used spool or you can buy a new spool too? Use it on your project:-)
I also teared a bit of patterned paper at the bottom right side. Then, I stamped "Love"background on a piece of paper and placed it below the patterned paper.
Here you can notice I used the very beautiful Washi tape again ( can't resist !):-))

***********************

Here I show you how I make the white polka dot. I handmade my mask by using a piece of plastic sheet then punched with ticket puncher.

Then I arranged my patterned papers to get what I want my layout look like.
Then I know where I should make the white polka dot. That's at the top left hand side.

I placed the handmade mask on the patterned paper then painted with gesson paint on the dot.

I painted three or four times.

Then misted with some ink, I used alcohol ink then mixed with some water.
After I done with this I decorated the layout as I wish :-))

****************************
I hope that you will get some inspiration from my layout specially if you wanted to make your Magnolia Little Christmas stamps more special. A special layout is recommanded! :-))

For beginner: A set of Magnolia Cards

This is my suggestion for beginner, if you are just discovered Magnolia rubberstamps, and you just have one

Tilda and one text rubberstamp, moreover you have limited supplies, then I have an idea for you.

Don't feel upset for your limited supplies, you can create some fabulous cards too , like me:-))

Here is: A square card (6"x6"), A round card, a bookmark and a ATC ( 2"x3").

Stamped Tilda on white cardstock, colored with your favourite medium ( I used normal color pencils,

blended with paper stumps and sansodor).

Stamp the text rubberstamps several times on white cardstock, teared the edges, distressed with distress ink-

Vintage Photo, if needed.

Decorate the cards as you wish:-))

This is a very simple creation and yet beautiful, don't you think so?

Have a nice weekend.

Magnolia DT Card~ Magnolia INK #2 Magazine Front Page Card~Tilda Chasing Butterflies~How to make a Magnolia Tilda Card

GOSH!! The title is super long :-)) Oh my...I have waited too long to show you this card which featured on the front page of Magnolia INK #2 Magazine.....have you seen that?? I bet you have...but today I want to show you the whole card and a tutorial how to make a Magnolia Tilda card:-))

The card is very simple indeed and took me an afternoon to complete it.Thus...it's easy and simple to make a pretty-Scandinavia-Magnolia cards...as long as you know some tips....OK, here we go....
All materials from Magnolia rubberstamps, Sweden, except Ice stickles from Ranger and Pearls from Prima Marketing.
A) Tilda:
1) Stamp Tilda and flowers on Neenah white paper as the picture shown, you can stamp them on any white color paper as long as the color do not blur when you do your coloring.
2) Color Tilda with any color medium that you are comfortable with. For this Tilda,I colored it with Steadtler Color Pencils, blended with paper stumps and sansodor.
3) I used Vintage Photo distress ink to color the soil, add more water if you want light color and vs.
4) Stamp butterfly on the left hand side of Tilda. Stamp again on scrap paper, color it and cut out.Glue on the stamped butterfly, fold a bit to make it dimensional.
5) Sponge the edges of whole white paper with Vintage Photo distress ink ( this is my favourite color:-) and sponge more inside the card.
6) Mat the white paper on a light green cardstock, slightly bigger than it. Set aside...waiting to be use later....my cute Tilda;-))
(B) Label
1) Stamp Label on the Neenah white paper. Sponge Vintage Photo distress ink on it. Write some wording...I copied from Internet. Set a side.
(C) Card base ( I am so sorry that I totally forgot about the sizes of all the papers I used on this card...so sorry)
1) This is a 6"x6" card. I use burgandy color cardstock as the base.
2) Cut the ladybug patterned paper slightly smaller than 6"x6". I think maybe 5"x5"...oh...I really forgot...
3) Cut the green patterned paper bigger than the light green cardstock that you set aside before (that has Tilda on it)..Punch the right hand side with Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch.
4) Cut three burgandy gingham ribbons and adhere on the back of light green cardstock as shown on the picture. Two ribbons at the upper side and one on the bottom.
5) Mat the light green cardstock on the green patterned paper.
6) Place two ribbons( polka dot burgandy ribbon and sheer burgandy ribbon) on the ladybug patterned paper.
7) Adhere the whole green patterned paper( there has light green cardstock with Tilda on it) on the ladybug patterned paper ( with two ribbons on it).
8) Adhere the stamped label beside the green patterned paper.
9)Place all the flowers, leaves, rhinestones, pearls as shown on the picture. I punched the leaves with Martha Stewart punch.
10) Put some Ice stickles on flowers, label and butterfly.
Viola ! You have your very cute Magnolia Tilda card.
Some tips for you:
!) Use light patterned papers. Magnolia patterned papers are recommanded.
2) Use flowers...flowers...and flowers.....
3) Use distress inks to sponge the edges of papers....Vintage Photo, Antique linen, tea-dye ...
4) Use rhinestones, pearls, stickles to make it more elegant and stunning.
5) If able, make the card full with layers......

Distressing Background Tutorial

I never done a tutorial before, so please bear with me and I am so excited to share with you all what I have created.

Well, first of all , you need to gather all your stamping supplies beforehand, it's for your convenience:-)
Distress Inks: Vintage Photo, Broken China, Mustard Seed, Black Soot, Frayed Burlap,Worn Lipstick(Ranger Industries).

Lexicon of Love-Cherish(Stampin'Up)

Ink Blending tool(Ranger Industries)

Sponge Dauber(Tsukineko)

Heat gun(Kuretake)

Sand paper

White shinny cardstock

OK, let's start.1.Start with a piece of white shinny cardstock(WSC). Yes, I used shinny cardstock, it's not a "normal" white cardstock, but it's shinny, you can get them at your local bookshop or craft store. If you use "normal" white cardstock , it will not worked.

2.Sponged the WSC with Broken China, Mustard Seed and Worn Lip distress inks. You can overlapping the colors.

3.Sponged all the background with Vintage Photo.

4. Spray some water on the background, about 4 times. Don't put too much water otherwise the texture is not "firm".

5.Quickly scrape the background with dish sponge over it.This will turn the background's texture, fun ?:-}

6.Heat set the scraped background with heat gun.

7.Using the ink blending tool , inked the background with Worn Lipstick and follow by Vintage Photo.

8.Ink randomly the background with Black Soot ink.

9.Ink the edges with Frayed Burlap.

10.Torn the edges of paper to make some scrolls, then ink some Frayed Burlap.

11.Stamped all over the background with the Cherish stamp using Versafine Ink(Onyx black).

12.Viola and you can decorate it as you like !!

Well, that's all for this tutorial. I hope you can understand what I want to share here. I had fun created this background and I hope you have fun as well.
