ATC ATC

I just completed eleven ATC with same design..I used lot's of technique in this small card, with including paper tearing, distressing, stamping, masking.Masking technique it's another technique that totally different with the masking that we know in stamping, this technique was introduced and teached by a friend, a fellow crafter and a super scrapbooker in Malaysia, Irene.

You need to have a look at her works, because it's SUPER!!! She told me that how the technique is then I followed her words to do the masking, I don't know if I am a smart student and did the right thing? Irene, what do you think ? hehe....

It's a swap from SNC , a local scrapbooking store that I know recently, then I join their forum, I know more Malaysian papercrafters, how excited !!So, here are some pictures of my ATC.Just can't wait to mail out to all the participants.

All the eleven ATC kept in the ATC sleeves

and CUT!!!!!!!!

Due to my busy in work and family life, I have missed some challenge in DCM and some other blog challenge:-(
Today , I am free so I took the chance to try the DCM blog challenge. This week , the challenge is CUT, let's see what they said:

Any theme goes, so for those of you needing a break from Christmas crafting this is the perfect opportunity to have a change. All styles are welcome but there MUST be an element of handcutting somewhere. It could be a greeting, a shape, letters printed on your pc and handcut, anything goes as long as you did it by hand.

I 've done with a primitive christmas card, that's what I think, I made the brown cardstock, then cut a christmas tree pattern on a white paper. Then I measured a cork paper slightly smaller then the cardstock and put the christmas tree pattern on it, traced and CUT with my scissors. Then, I attached ribbons behind the tree. The "Merry Christmas" is a clear stamp from Stampendous!. Tie a brown ribbon, viola ! Simple and easy christmas card.

By the way , my 2000 hits blog candy is still on and I will randomly draw a winner on next monday, come join us !

2000 Hits Blog Candy-

Am just thinking about what are the benefits of making cards? Yes, BENEFITS ! Could you tell me ? I have spent lot's of money on it( and as the currency conversion ) to buy the stamping and cardmaking supplies, to mail the card and spend the postage on it, pay the internet bill, to join the group and to swap with crafters/cardmakers.All these costs A LOT. Should I carry on or give up ?
I love this hobby and moreover I know friends from around the world who have same hobby like me, and I also thinking what should come to the end of my cardmaking episode ? still making cards on my age of 80, if I bless by God? or maybe I have my own of stamping supplies store on my age of 50 ? and may be I can teach the younger of the art of cardmaking ? oh, I don't know, I need to think seriously....or what about your suggestions ? leave your comments here, I really appreciate :-)

As to celebrate the 2000 hits, I will randomly choose a winner who leave an comment here with the suggestion of my thought, yes, let me know what should I do to support my expensive hobby....or any suggestions, opinion regarding it.....

The winner will receive:
* a handmade card from me specially posted for you from Malaysia.
*a little souvenir from Malaysia.
*Chinese Empheras which consist:
Chinese wedding invitation card{very chinese, full of rich red color},red envelopes, chinese news paper for your Asian cards.
*a suprise from me !

So, hurry, I will pick a winner on next Monday,5th November.Don't miss your chance, maybe you are the winner:-))

Our Amazing Circle Of Friends
The group of friends who got together to form the Daring Cardmakers back in October 2006 has developed and grown into a huge circle of crafting and blogging friends who come together from all over the world to share their inspiration and their talents so enthusiastically, and are always so supportive of each other's cardmaking.
In honour of all of you who've helped make this blog so successful, and such a friendly place to "play" we've decided to revisit our very first dare for this our first anniversary, but with a twist.
The subject is, as in our original dare "friends", but this time the title is CIRCLE of FRIENDS and we'd like you to incorporate at least one circle into your card.

DCM .

and Arty Girls

This week's challenge is 'stitches'...feel free to interpret our theme's any way you choose.....you could do real stitching, faux stitching, use the word 'stitches', sew a button on your project...it's entirely up to you ;)

I don't have my sewing mechine, yes, I know my mother has one, but that one is really old, Singer, product in 1969!! Dad bought it for my mom when they married! Really really old and BROKEN, it's antique now:-)
So I use faux stitches, just pierce holes with a needle!Very simple, but need to do on the back of the card.

Stamp: MSE.

I quickly took my digital camera and took my action.A really beautiful ,beautiful box filled with goodies and a beautiful and creative card shown in front of me!! Melanie is so talented and creative. She made a wedding dress using the patterned paper I sent as the lower part of the dress and added vellum to have a satin look, very very clever and creative idea.I do hope, yes, I wish that Melanie consider cardmaking as her hobby now and forever...

This is actually a NNCC ( Card Swap).Thank you Melanie.

A Golden Moment

Phew!!! I finally had the time to make the card for little extra from DCM featured on Tuesday.

Here is the challenge:

This time we are giving you just One Word as the inspiration for your card making and that word is GOLDEN You can use the word in any way you like - the word itself doesn't even have to be on the card, for instance you could make a card in golden shades, or maybe inspired by the seasons of Spring or Autumn which both feature lots of golden colours. Or maybe you could make a card to celebrate a Golden Anniversary, and of course Gold is a great colour for Christmas cards.....It's up to you - just go for Gold .

Thank you Daring Cardmakers!!

I used a really GOLD paper and oh my, it took me hours to scan and photograhed the photos. After the scanning the gold paper looks so weird on picture, but very details, I was not happy with the result, so I took my digital camera and make some shots.

Scanned

Taken with digital camera.

Patterned Papers: Anna Griffin,Origami Gold Paper

Flowers: Bazzill

Here is the ATC:
